Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ,

Praise the LORD of hosts, For the LORD is good, For His mercy endures forever” (Jeremiah 33:11). Even in uncertain times, we can be confident the Lord loves and cares for us. He is always actively working in our lives for our good (Romans 8:28).

The State of Texas (www.dshs.gov) reports that we have 34 active COVID cases. Please join me in prayer that God will heal our land of this dreadful sickness, and that we would learn everything He wants us to know from this historic time.

Because all of our ministries and activities are functioning once again, and our attendance is increasing, this will be my last weekly chat. All the information that I typically share can be found in the monthly calendar and Sunday’s handout.

“Get Out of the Boat” (Matthew 14:22-33) is the title of my sermon for this Sunday. As we walk through our MAPs, Miracles, and Parables of Jesus from the book of Matthew, my prayer is this sermon will help us overcome our fears so we can step out in faith. President Theodore Roosevelt said this about the fear of failure:

“It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done better. The credit belongs to the man who is in the arena, whose face is marred by dust, sweat, and blood, who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; who at best knows at the end of the triumph of high achievement and who at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly. So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.”
