At
First Baptist, children can participate in the following ministries:Newborns through age three are welcome to stay in our nursery during Sunday services and Wednesday night activities.
Sunday morning Bible Study provides classes with age appropriate Bible curriculum taught by experienced, nurturing adults.
Children’s Time is a three to five minute life application lesson during both morning worship services for children of all ages.
Children’s Church is for four and five-year-olds and includes Bible Stories and appropriate behavior lessons for “big church.”
AWANAS is a Wednesday night club program dedicated to training children through scripture to know, love, and serve God. This club meets September – April each year.
Priority One Boot Camp is a winter weekend stay at Daniel Springs Baptist Encampment for grades 4-6 with lessons emphasizing commitment to Christian living, praise and worship.
Preschoolers Vacation Bible School for three-year-olds through kindergarten involves children in thematic music, lessons and crafts about the life of Jesus and other Bible characters.
Vacation Bible School for grades one through six is led by college-age members of the CLEAR ministry. Their live band and contemporary style of teaching bring Bible truths to our students in an exciting format.
Sonrise Camp in the summer for students entering third through sixth grades. This involves a four-day stay at Daniel Springs Baptist encampment with in-depth Bible study, praise and worship.
Seasonal activities include a community Fall Festival, an award winning float in the Panola County Christmas parade, the Christmas story read to children at the altar, a children’s Easter egg hunt every spring, and special children’s choir camps (see music ministry).

Notes from Sharron Poss, Director of Children's Ministries

Out of Darkness Stick Ministry - All those entering 3rd grade this year are invited to become a part of our Out of Darkness Stick Ministry. This unique ministry is for 3rd through 6th graders. Practice is each Sunday, 4:00pm, in the Activity Center.

Heaven's Angels Pre-K Choir Sundays -5:00 pm
in Nursery 3 - AWANA 2009-2010 -
Wednesdays - 6:00 pm (no summer months) - Children's Church:
Ages 3 years – pre-K will attend adult worship until Children’s Time with Ms. Joyce is over. Then they will move to the gym with Ms. Jamie Bickham for bible games and then a video presentation.
Ages K – 2nd grade will also attend adult worship until Children’s Time with Ms. Joyce is over. Then they will move to the Activity Center and meet with Ms. Julie McRight for story time and then a video presentation.
Grades 3 – 6 will NOT attend adult worship. After Sunday School they will move to the student center for “Kids in L.I.G.H.T.” (Acronym for Living In Grace Hope and Truth.) Here we will have a live band led by Mr. Tony Sheffield and a Praise Team led by Chelsea Campbell. They will lead us in music and fun that leads us to honor Christ. Bro. Cory Robinson will bring God’s Word to us in his message about “Knowing God” and why this is so important for pre-teens.
