JOY Group - Senior Adult Ministries

Our Senior Adult Ministry is called, JOY, an acronym for Just Over Youth. Our ministries include these exciting activities:

PRAYER ROOM staffed by volunteers each morning of the week as well as Sunday evening. The prayer requests of our people are faithfully mentioned in the throne room of heaven.

TOUCH MINISTRY is four teams of two or more who visit all the shut-ins on a regular basis.

SENIOR CONFERENCES provide inspiration and information. We attend conferences such as the BMAA National Senior Adult Conference as well as some state and area conferences during the year.

SPECIAL BIBLE STUDIES are conducted each year over a selected topic in the Bible, taught by qualified Bible teachers.

R.V. CAMPOUTS gives our seniors with recreational vehicles the opportunity to plan special trips out of town for the purpose of fellowship and ministry.

ANNUAL SENIOR BANQUET is planned to honor our senior adults and give special recognition to members of our group for outstanding service during the year.

ENLISTMENT MINISTRY is our effort to reach out in our community and enlist the un-enlisted for the Master’s service.

42 TOURNAMENTS are a way we fellowship and raise money for missions at the same time. Every quarter we hold a domino 42 tournament with recognition for the winning teams.

FRIENDS is our effort to encourage those just under the age of “60 “ who want to help or participate in some of the senior adult ministries.

FELLOWSHIPS are scheduled throughout the year to provide a venue for spiritual encouragement, fun, fellowship, food and worship. Needless to say we have a great time!

Mini-sermons & anecdotes from Brother Don Collins. Cost is $12.95 - proceeds support the Baptist Medical Missions International. Dr. Tilley says, "Don challenges us to see life and ministry through a different perspective.  To go beyond what is comfortable and predictable, and reach for a level that compels and inspires people to respond."
