Activities and programs available at First Baptist Church for ages birth throuth 6th grade:
Birth through age 2 are invited to stay in our nursery during Sunday services and Wednesday night activities.
Sunday School Bible Studyclass begins at 9:30 am for ages 3 and older.
All childrenare invited to come to the altar for Children's Time during the Praise & Worship service each Sunday morning. This is a 5 minute life lesson presented by our pastor's wife, Mrs. Joyce Tilley.
Children ages 3-Pre-K2nd-5th Sundays children go to the Activity Center for stories and games with Ms. Jamie Bickham following Children's Time with Mrs. Joyce Tilley in the Sanctuary. Parents pick them up from the A/C following the 10:30 am worship service.
Chldren ages K-2nd Grades2nd-5th Sundays children go to the Activity Center for stories and games following Children's Time with Mrs. Joyce Tilley in the Sanctuary. Parents pick them up from the A/C following the 10:30 am worship service.
L.I.G.H.T. (Living in Grace, Hope and Truth)Students 3rd-6th grades on the 2nd-5th Sundays walk to the Student Center immediately following Sunday School. Messages and activities designed to lead and disciple older children to live in Christ's love are taught in this service. Students remain here until the 10:30 am worship service is dismissed.
Wednesday evenings at 6:00 pm our AWANAprogram emphasizes Gospel lessons and Scripture memorization programs for ages 3 yrs. - 4th grade (September through May of each year)
Wednesday evenings at 6:00 pm our GRAPPLEprogram addresses pre-teen issues in a contemporary large/small group format for 5th and 6th graders (September-May of each year)
Summer offersinclude Vacation Bible School for ages 3 yrs - 6th grade and a 4-day camp for 4th - 6th graders.
Seasonal children's choir campswith stage performances are also held.
Priority Oneis a military style weekend camp for 4th-6th graders in early winter.
Out of Darknessis our group of 3rd-6th graders who perform interpretive movements to inspirational music.
G.A.P for 6th Graders onlyis an outreach designed to help bridge the gap between 6th grade and junior high school.

Children's Choirs
Heaven's Angels - preK choir - Sundays, 5:00--meet in nursery room 3 - will perform Mother's Day
Girls of Grace - girls choir, grades 4-6; begins February 19, Sundays at 4:30 pm. Will perform Easter Sunday This is a select Junior Girl Ensemble. To audition, contact David Yarbrough.
Out of Darkness - 3rd-6th grade
Ministry which uses interpretive movements with music to praise and worship God. Students use black lights, fluorescent colors, gloves, and dowel rods that shine "out of the darkness" to illustrate the messages in contemporary Christian songs. Practices are Thursday afternoons 3:30 - 5:00. Team leader is Sarah Jones assisted by Makayla Reeder and Sydney Webb. To arrange transportation from school to the church, contact Sharron Poss at the church office.
Ages 3 years – pre-K will attend adult worship until Children’s Time with Ms. Joyce is over. Then they will move to the gym with Ms. Jamie Bickham for bible games and then a video presentation.
Ages K – 2ndgrade will also attend adult worship until Children’s Time with Ms. Joyce is over. Then they will move to the Activity Center and meet with Ms. Julie McRight for story time and then a video presentation.
Grades 3 – 6 will NOT attend adult worship. After Sunday School they will move to the student center for “Kids in L.I.G.H.T.” (Acronym for Living In Grace Hope and Truth.) Here we will have a live band led by Mr. Tony Sheffield and a Praise Team led by Chelsea Campbell. They will lead us in music and fun that leads us to honor Christ. Bro. Cory Robinson will bring God’s Word to us in his message about “Knowing God” and why this is so important for pre-teens.
