First Baptist
Church
150 Years
Celebration
On
April 19, 2008, First Baptist Church will celebrate its 150th
anniversary. We invite you to share
the memories of those years by attending our special celebration service. Witness the first meeting which formed
our church on April 18, 1858, reenacted by our current members. See the hardships faced by our church members
as they tried to keep a pastor when times were tough. Reminisce with us as our stage becomes a
window to our past, and the events that shaped our community and our church
come to life. Witness our church in
the “olden days” when life was very different than it is today.
There
will be special music and “old time” singing. Many historical books and pictures will
be displayed for viewing. We hope
you take time to share this special celebration with us. The sanctuary doors will open at
1:30. The stage performance and
singing will begin at 2:00. After a brief intermission, the program
will continue until 4:30.
Afterwards, dinner will be provided and served to all in attendance.
